Vets start of season v Caldecote. Won 4-0

The start of the new season for the vets got off to a great start with a 4-0 victory. Squad of 14 turned up today for the 1st match. Some looking in better shape than others. No new faces for this match, but a couple of new players will be joining us this season, just got them signed before the transfer deadline. We started the game very brightly , with some excellent one touch football. Apart from when dippy got it, and fell over. Dippy never disappoints with his antics, fouling people and getting nut megged in the 1st 20 mins. The brilliant Stu smith playing at right back started the move that led to the 1st goal, his pass found sedge ,who slipped a through ball to midge and his shot across the keeper found the corner of the net, I couldn't keep up with all the 1 touch football to report who did this and that. The second goal came from another cross from the right ,this time finding 2 touch who headed in a great goal from 10 yds out. 2 touch finished off another great move when he headed in his 2nd goal of the day midway through the half. The pitch helped our free flowing football, best condition its been in for a couple of years. 3- 0 half time. Roy, captain Clark and Darren came on for the 2nd half. The match continued to be one way traffic, but there keeper was in inspired form and made a lot of excellent saves. With 20 mins to go, Glen our keeper wanted a run out ,so 2 touch donned the gloves and Glen shot up front. It was another great cross from sedge that found Glen at the back post who lid in and scored a good goal. At the other end 2 touch in goal made a brilliant save to keep the score at 4-0 Dippy was still entertaining on the pitch ,but when he went chasing a ball, he pulled up short with a hamstring problem. I think if he was a horse I would have shot him, to put us all out of our misery. Only joking dippy. So we ended the match with 10 players, but no further scoring. Today's .M.O M goes to 2 touch well done all it was a great game of football.
