Sunday match

We were at home to Neverton from Peterborough, this was the 1st time we have played them. They have a good team, but they found us in excellent form and we ran out winners 4 0. I have strengthened the team this season as quite alot of us are now way over the 50 age. We started very quickly with kempy and midge causing the defence alot of problems and it was no surprise when my reliable midfield general  warren everdell opened his account for the season with a well taken goal , scoring from just outside the box. Howard kemp extended the lead midway through the 1st half when he beat a couple of defenders inside the box to slot by the keeper from 8 yards. Half time 2 0 We lost the influential midfield player nigel parker with an ankle injury after 10 mins of the 2nd half, which may keep him out for a couple of weeks. We continued to press and play some good football, kevin anderson picked the ball up from 25 yards ran into box and toe poked the ball passed the keeper from 10 yards. Midge eventually got on the score sheet when he finished off an excellent move from inside the 6 yard box.

All around an excellent result with my man of the match this week going to Howard Kemp for his tireless work which we missed  last season due to his injury problems Next week away to Royston Ed
