Result: Hemingford Red 3 Ramsey 3

A match that either team could have won ended in a 3-3 draw. In the first half we were generally second to the ball and it was of no surprise when Ramsey took an early lead. The boys started to get into the match and a fine ball played over the Ramsey defence by Leon Tinker enabled Tom Lynn to collect the pass, run with the ball and lob the Ramsey keeper from outside the penalty area. A fine equaliser. Not long afterwards Ramsey responded with a similar goal, a ball played over our defence and their striker running on to it adding a decent finish. We were 2-1 down at half-time and relieved to still be in the match after a lacklustre first half performance. The boys gave a much better second half performance and equalised via a long range effort from Leon Tinker. With less than 10 minutes to go Leon Tinker played a long ball over the Ramsey defence and Ciaron Lyne took the ball in his stride, held off a challenge and struck a sweet shot inside the far post. Just as the team were heading for a 3-2 win Ramsey broke down our left and equalised with a minute left. Overall a draw was a fair result although the boys were disappointed to concede a goal so late in the match.
