In 2012 a defibrillator was acquired for the Hemingford Peace Memorial Field using funds from the Community First Responders (CFR) and the Hemingford Grey Open Gardens event.
The Trustees have now approved the purchase of a cabinet which is heated and alarmed to allow the unit to be re-located from its inside location in the squash area to the front of the Pavilion. This will allow quicker access to the unit should the need arise and make it available to all users of the facility, at any time.
Training courses have been held to train staff and club representatives on the use of the equipment. However, it should be noted that the defibrillator can also be used by untrained people as it talks the operator through the procedure and will not function if it detects that its use is not appropriate for the person being treated.
